S. OREGON ROAD TRIP: LITHIA PARK

after the family beach trip, todd, huck, and i headed down to medford to kick off a new project for work. and after a couple of days there, we tooled around ashland before we headed up the coast again.

while we were in ashland we stopped at lithia park. as a landscape designer, i was giddy about a 100-acre urban park that winds its way along ashland creek and around picnic areas, tennis and volleyball courts, children's play areas, a japanese garden, a grove of london plane trees (my favorites!), a duck pond, a rose garden, and even an italian fountain before it makes its way up the forested canyon.

it was totally beautiful, really functional, and just so civilized.

i mean, there was even a deer for crying out loud.
