FALL IS ALSO FOR CRAFTING
first up: a little something for huck's first birthday.
it's a pretty small project, but when you've been gone a while, you gotta bite off only what you can chew, you know? and i know it's a little early yet, but my niece's birthday is november 1st and we are doing both banners at the same time. either way, it was super fun and easy (not even any sewing, just cutting and ironing) and it will look really cute strung up.
next up: pillows for our bed and a duvet cover for huck's down comforter.

UM, HUCK JUST NAPPED FOR TWO HOURS AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES.
that may have been his longest nap EVER. well, at least his longest one in a very long time. no pictures necessary for this post. just these words, which are more than enough for me.
AWAKE AND PLAYING BEFORE DAWN
and on a weekend morning, no less. see how dark it is outside? sheesh. this shot was taken from the couch, where i am sitting with a BIG cup of strong black tea.
HE'S MY BOY FRIDAY
because todd works on friday nights, huck and i get to have a standing date night that takes us right into the weekend. last night we stayed in and listened to music, cooked dinner, watched 'free to be you and me' (well, i did), took a bath, and read books until we fell asleep: him at 6:30 (so early!) and me at 11:30 (so late!).

HUCK IS 10 MONTHS OLD TODAY!
these are the only shots i got of the boy today: huck and teej in the kitchen at dinnertime. will you check out the legs on this kid, though? they're like two little ham hocks! maybe he should lay off the johnny jump up for a while so they don't get overdeveloped . . .
